A trip down childhood memory lane: kindergarten (not yet called preschool) run by nuns, I remember the glue crafts where glue (made of white flour) was distributed by teaspoons, at the edge of the desk, in shells.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/mark>Authentic reflections on teachers’ and educators’ workshops<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In this section, discover how the teachers of the kindergartens and primary school teachers involved in the project experienced the workshops planned for Cianfrusaglie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

INTONARUMORI: THE CIANFRUSAGLIE OF FOLEY ART with Mirko Porta and Daniele Marinelli from the Creatori di Suoni Association of Rome: how ambient sounds are created for cinematic works.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants<\/strong>: 22 fifth-grade students from La Vela School in Rovereto.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was an inspiring and enriching opportunity for the children, but also for us teachers to see them as protagonists!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had the chance to meet two sound professionals and artists who revealed some secrets of their craft and what they create in the studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was wonderful to see the children\u2019s amazement in front of a table of “cianfrusaglie” (junk objects). In fact, what the two artists brought were simple everyday objects: plastic bags, a pair of sweatpants, sheets of paper, a wicker basket, a bell. Nothing sensational, but in their hands, it becomes sound magic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children immediately immersed themselves in the spirit of the workshop, actively participating by trying out the sounds produced by those “cianfrusaglie” and attempting to understand which sounds best suited to accompany the selected images. With joy but also great seriousness! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each of them, following the instructions and advice of the artists but often improvising, tried to recreate the sounds of some scenes from the proposed short film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not easy to observe the images and produce synchronized sounds appropriate to the scene, but the children bravely took on the challenge, and at the end of each performance, smiles and applause were never lacking!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone participated actively and contributed to a collective creation, including the shyer and more reserved children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spontaneously, some very interesting creative ideas also arose from the children: for example, a girl suggested using a bell found among other miscellaneous objects to ring it like a Tibetan bell. Another girl wanted to enrich the already quite rich sound track by imagining that the forest spirits present in some scenes were chatting with each other with little giggles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it was a magical, incredible moment!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another aspect that fascinated the children was getting in touch with the technological side: the equipment needed for recording and the editing software that offers endless possibilities for combinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, thanks to those who proposed these wonderful workshops in the schools, to the artists who made themselves available, to Ente San Martino, and to the people who are lovingly preserving the treasure of the Sisters Agazzi… which, after more than 100 years, still manages to inspire many ideas and surprising influences
